Use Codex and Claude Code together.
Plan with one, build with the other, in one mission. Skyflo applies the same access mode to both and records which agent did what.
A guide to running OpenAI Codex and Anthropic Claude Code on one piece of work from a Mac: switching coding agents between turns, sharing the conversation with consent, and keeping one approval setting and one record across both.
Checkout retries

Codex
turn 1
Plan how checkout should retry failed calls without charging twice.
Plan: an idempotency key per order, retries in checkout-client.js, a test for each case.
Claude Code
turn 2
Build the plan.
Shared this mission's history with Claude Code
Edited src/lib/checkout-client.js and added 3 tests. Commands waited for you.
Codex
turn 3
Check the change and run both test suites.
8 tests passed. One suggestion: log the idempotency key on retry.
Illustrative example. One mission, three turns, two agents.
Five steps, on your Mac.
You need Skyflo for Mac with a free account, and both agents installed and signed in.
- 01
Install both agents and sign in to each.
Codex signs in with your ChatGPT account and Claude Code with your Claude subscription, as they do on their own. Skyflo lists an agent once it finds it installed on your Mac.
- 02
Start one mission.
Add the repositories the work touches and choose the access mode. That mode applies to every agent that works on the mission, whichever one you pick for a turn.
- 03
Send the first turn to one agent.
Pick Codex, or Claude Code, from the agent menu in the composer and describe the goal.
- 04
Switch agents for the next turn.
When the turn finishes, pick the other agent and send the next instruction. The first time the conversation would go to a different provider, Skyflo asks before it shares the mission's history.
- 05
Switch back whenever it helps.
Each reply shows which agent wrote it, and the mission record keeps every turn, approval and change in order.
Change the agent, keep the mission.
Without a shared place, using two agents on one task means copying context between two sessions, each with its own approval setting and its own history.
- One conversation
- Once you agree to share it, the next agent starts from Skyflo's copy of the mission's conversation, not from a summary you paste.
- One access mode
- Edits, commands and host access follow the mode you chose, for both agents.
- One record
- Every turn is attributed to the agent that ran it, on an append-only record on your Mac.
- One place to return to
- The mission goes idle when the work stops, so the follow-up goes to the same place.
What switching does not do.
- One agent works on a turn at a time. The agent menu is locked while a turn runs.
- The new agent receives a bounded copy of the conversation Skyflo keeps, not the other agent's private transcript.
- If you decline to share the history, or the next agent cannot fit enough of it, Skyflo does not switch agents for that turn.
- Claude Code runs on your Mac with your own Claude subscription. Skyflo Cloud, on paid plans, runs Codex and Skyflo's own agent.
Running both at oncePreview
Orchestrate splits a goal between specialist agents, each in its own worktree. Its lead agent is fixed once the mission starts.
Run your next task with both.
Free includes every supported agent, so the two you already pay for work in Skyflo at no extra cost.
Start free. macOS 14+, Apple silicon and Intel. Agent subscriptions and model keys you bring are billed by their providers.
