Skyflo vs Claude Cowork

Claude Cowork is Anthropic's agent for knowledge work across files, connectors and a browser, and Anthropic is folding it into one Claude experience. Skyflo runs Skyflo's own agent and the coding agents you already use, Claude Code among them, in missions on your Mac.

An agent for knowledge work compared with an operating layer for software work, read against Anthropic's product pages and help center.

Every statement about Claude Cowork below is limited to behavior documented on the first-party pages listed at the foot of this page, on the date they were read. Where those pages do not cover a dimension, the table says so instead of guessing.

Claude Cowork · documented strength

Cowork plans a task, coordinates parallel sub-agents, works across connected folders, connectors, a built-in browser and, on Pro and Max, computer use in beta, and returns finished files. Scheduled tasks run in the cloud, projects keep files and memory together, and Team and Enterprise get plugin marketplaces, connector controls and OpenTelemetry.

Skyflo · where it sits

Skyflo is built for software work: Claude Code, Codex, Cursor Agent or Skyflo's own agent works a mission on your repositories, under one access mode you choose, with a record and personal memory on your Mac.

The decision.

Do you want Claude to finish knowledge work across your files and apps, or missions that run several coding agents on your repositories?

Claude Cowork is Anthropic's agent for non-coding knowledge work, now merging into the Claude app and running new Pro and Max tasks in Anthropic's cloud. Anthropic points software work to Claude Code, which Skyflo runs on your Mac beside Codex and other agents, under one access mode per mission.

Not run by Skyflo. Skyflo does not run Claude Cowork. It runs Claude Code, Anthropic's coding agent, on your Mac with your own Claude sign-in.

Choose Claude Cowork when

01
  • The work is documents, spreadsheets, slides and research rather than code.
  • You want Claude to work in Anthropic's cloud with your laptop closed, or locally in its VM on Team and Enterprise.
  • Your organization already buys Claude Team or Enterprise and wants plugin marketplaces, SSO, SCIM and the Compliance API.

Choose Skyflo when

02
  • The work is software, and Claude Code should share a mission with Codex, Cursor Agent or Skyflo's own agent.
  • Missions should run on your Mac by default, under an access mode you choose, with their record kept there.
  • Memory from finished missions should link to its source, and proven command sequences should become Skills.

You might use both when

Use Claude Cowork for knowledge work in Claude, and Skyflo when software work should run Claude Code beside your other coding agents.

Skyflo vs Claude Cowork, dimension by dimension

Work-platform comparisons use 10 dimensions suited to agents for broad work, including the ones where Claude Cowork is stronger. A row reading “not addressed” means the reviewed documentation does not cover it, which is not the same as the product lacking it.

DimensionSkyfloClaude Cowork
01What it is forSoftware work. Skyflo gives a goal to Skyflo's own agent or the coding agents you already use, and holds the goal, access and record in one mission. Engineering is where Skyflo starts; it is not a general assistant for email or documents today.Non-coding knowledge work: research, documents, spreadsheets and presentations across files, connectors and the web. Anthropic positions Claude Code for software.
02Unit of workA mission: one goal with its conversation, the agents working on it, the access mode and the record. It persists between sessions and goes idle rather than closing.A task, or for Pro and Max accounts in the new Claude experience, a conversation that becomes a task when needed. Projects group tasks with files, instructions, schedules and memory.
03Where it runsOn your Mac by default, in your own repositories. On a paid plan an eligible mission can start in or move to Skyflo Cloud, a machine Skyflo runs for that mission, and keep working while the Mac sleeps.Since October 6, 2026, new Pro and Max tasks run in an isolated sandbox in Anthropic's cloud, with no setting to run locally. Team and Enterprise can also run local sessions in a Linux VM, and the desktop app reaches local folders.
04Agents and modelsSkyflo's own agent plus seven external coding agents on their own sign-ins: Codex, Claude Code, Cursor Agent, Antigravity, Grok CLI, OpenCode and Pi. Skyflo's own agent uses included models on paid plans or your Moonshot or Z.ai key.Claude models only, through a Claude account or Amazon Bedrock, Google Cloud or Microsoft Foundry. Claude coordinates its own sub-agents; running other vendors' agents is not documented.
05Apps, browser, and computer useSkyflo's own agent works with code, files, a browser and a terminal you can share, and can schedule automations while Skyflo is open. A GitHub connection comes with every plan; connectors to other business systems are Planned.Connectors such as Google Drive, Gmail, Microsoft 365 and Slack, a built-in browser or Claude in Chrome, computer use on Pro and Max in beta, and scheduled tasks that run in the cloud.
06Approvals and safety checksYou choose one access mode per mission, from Ask for approval to Full access, and it applies to every agent in it, with each decision recorded. New Auto missions start in Full access; Orchestrate starts in Ask for approval; Plan mode waits for your approval.Manual approval is the default, Auto reviews each action for safety, and classic Cowork also offers Skip all approvals. Deleting files always asks, and computer use asks per app.
07Memory and contextPersonal memory on your Mac, learned from finished missions, each memory linked to its source. You can inspect, remove or turn off learning. It does not travel to Skyflo Cloud, and organization-wide memory is Planned.Cloud sessions share memory with chat, which you can view, edit and delete, and memory can be turned off per task. Project memory stays in its project; local sessions do not use memory.
08Working with other peopleBuilt around one person's missions today. A paired iPhone or iPad, in Preview and App Store review, can follow missions and approve actions. Shared team workspaces are Planned.Team and Enterprise can share projects to view or edit. Classic Cowork sessions cannot be shared, though their files and artifacts can.
09Team and enterprise controlsNo central administration yet: team administration, organization-wide memory and contracted enterprise controls are Planned. Companies evaluate Skyflo in a pilot with individual accounts. No SSO, SCIM or compliance certification is claimed. On Team and Enterprise: an organization switch, connector controls, plugin marketplaces and OpenTelemetry. Enterprise adds groups and custom roles, SSO, SCIM, the Compliance API, custom retention and a HIPAA-ready local mode.
10Availability and priceSkyflo for Mac on macOS 14 or later. Free with your own agents and keys, no card; Core ($10), Pro ($30) and Max ($120) a month add included models, Voice Mode and Skyflo Cloud.Generally available on paid plans since April 2026, not on Free. The merge into one Claude is rolling out to Pro ($20 a month) and Max (from $100); Team and Enterprise keep separate Cowork for now.
